Kayaking with the ice flow.

Hi, I’m Kurt!

With a lifetime of outdoor adventures,  25 years of teaching, and having a wonderful family and good friends – I know I’m a lucky man.  Who wouldn’t when you get to live, work and play here in Foxburg.   To share this enchanting gem with many that are looking for a little adventure in their own lives makes this a great place to be.   I’ve met people from all over who have discovered “little old Foxburg” in recent years and they are literally at a loss of words why they didn’t find this place earlier.  It has so many little treasures around every corner, whether it be fine food and drink in town, a great view from the Foxburg Inn river deck, the historic library and theater, the beautiful bike trail overlooking two major rivers, the historic Fox Estate and Foxburg Country Club, and the great fishing our rivers offer and nature watching as well.  And the best part is that people come here to have a good time with their friends and family.  For me, that is really what it is all about.

So, where is Foxburg and what makes it so special?  Well, Foxburg is located along the Allegheny River approximately 90 miles as the river flows from the Point in Pittsburgh (or 45 miles for a Crow). The mouth to a major tributary to the Allegheny River is also found 2 miles south of Foxburg in the form of the Clarion River.  These two major rivers, along with the last ice age helped sculpted the land into the hills and valleys of the Appalachian Plateau that you see today.  This gives the area the natural beauty that people from near and far come to see.  Many of our customers come back again and again – they simply can’t get enough of what we have – a place where things tend to be less hectic, where an eagle can be seen soaring by while one eats their lunch, or  where they can listen to a wonderful lawn concert while watching the lazy river meander by.

And what are Foxburg Tours?  Well, we’re really just the byproduct of the past and present.  It begins with the arrival of the Fox family who came to occupy these lush river valleys in the early 1800’s and built a small empire that lasted 6 generations and benefited those who worked and lived in the region.  When fortune and family members dwindled, Foxburg became another sleepy, forgotten river town.  It was only after the arrival of Dr. Arthur and Patricia Steffee in the late 1990’s that Foxburg went through a revival becoming a small resort town and enchanting destination for 1000’s of people every year.  A place where fine wine and food, local festivals, concerts, motorcycle cruises, nature watching and, of course, touring can be experienced all on one weekend.

And when Foxburg started to show up on peoples radar, someone needed to show them around – and that’s what we do!  Customized tours for those who have different tastes for adventure.   You can choose a fun-filled ride on  your  own personal Segway zipping throughout the 100’s of acres of the historical Riverstone Estate, or a smooth and peaceful pontoon boat ride up and down the Allegheny, or a refreshing bicycle ride for two along our scenic paved river trail, or heart-pounding, jet-boat trip to the Indian Petroglyphs. Regardless, we have a unique and personal adventure waiting to help you explore a local treasure we call Foxburg.  We are very excited to share this gem of an area with all those that seek a little adventure in their life.  Our friendly and helpful staff will make sure that your tour or rental will be memorable enough to make you come back again.  Check us out under Foxburg Pizza.  If we aren’t in the shop, we are probably on a tour so give us a call and tell us what adventure you would like to do.
